Harriet Walmesley Harriet began dancing at the age of 5. Throughout her childhood she took examinations in Disco Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Ballroom, Latin American and Sequence with the ISTD and competed in many competitions across the Country. Including National Finals held at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Her love of dance led her to include it in her Academic Studies. She studied Dance as one of her A Level subjects and Performance Studies at AS Level at Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge. At the age of 17 Harriet began teaching Disco Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Ballroom and Latin American at Deville Dance in Haverhill and Adult Ballroom and Latin American Classes for West Suffolk College. In September 2006 Harriet opened 3 Sets of classes for Adults and Children in the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire Area. She is now successfully running Hot Steps Dance Academy in Steeple Morden, Papworth Everard and Haverhill. She regularly attends ISTD Disco Freestyle and Ballroom and Latin Competitions with her pupils across the Country as well as holding examination sessions twice a year for pupils to take their medals with the ISTD. Harriet also teaches Ballroom and Latin American for an IDTA School in the Hertfordshire area as well as after school dance club’s at local Schools. Harriet successfully passed her Disco Freestyle Associate Qualification with the IDTA in the summer of 2006, she then went on to take her Latin American Associate with the ISTD in August 2007 and her Ballroom Associate with the ISTD in September 2008. Achieving the highest grades in all Professional Qualifications. She is a very enthusiastic teacher who loves her classes! And is always working hard to maintain a successful, fun and friendly atmosphere at Hot Steps Dance Academy. |
Rowena Walmesley Rowena began dancing at 3 years of age competing at her first competition at the age of 4. She then went on to win the ISTD National Latin title in 1997 also coming second in the ISTD National Ballroom finals in the same year. In every examination Rowena has taken she has gained top grades in Ballroom, Latin American, Sequence, Disco Freestyle, Rock 'n' Roll & Tap. Rowena is an active member of staff at Hot Steps, teaching Adults & children at many of the classes. When Rowena was in year 11 at her secondary school she was given the position of Dance co-ordinator, where she taught dance to younger children & organsied the annual dance show. |
